okay sukkas, as i have heard that my blog post was shat (and that the new girls are better at work, and that maz has better sories!) the dom rep is coolio, ha ha ha its my birrhday! and i am pretty drunk! AEGH HAR HAR!

...i never finished that entry...because i was too drunk. anygoo im not so much now so i will continue.

Well the Dominican Republic is pretty great, very hot and crazy. The people are nice...but like i said crazy. Being white here is kinda like being famous, all the men would gladly give up a beautiful domican girl for an ugly white one (so im quids in! ar har har har!) yeah they like to hiss to get girls attention which is pretty funny. Its also easy to meet up with the other volunteers, they are easy to find being the only white people! i think i have seen maybe two other white people sinse i have been here.

The traffic is mad too...and the pollution is far worse in the city than london, which is pretty darn bad. To get to work i take two publicos. Publicos are really battered up old cars that work like busses going up and down main roads...they are cheap and they squish up to 6 people in as well as the driver. When i say battered i mean it too, on the way here i had to hold the door shut and myself in the car, ha ha good times.

To the school we also get a motoconcho which is just a motorbike taxi...the guys fight over who gets to take us "americanos" to school on their motorbikes which is pretty funny. They are also mucho unsafe as the guys seem to think its okay to squeeze in between two cars coming opposite ways down a small road, almost chopping our legs off.

When we get to school it has really pretty views over the mountains...but also of the shacks the kids live in, it really is the slums (does ne stop em from being little brats though!) Its pretty sad to see at first, but the people seem happy enough.

Teaching is alot harder than i had planned, the kids know colours and numbers and all that jazz so we often end up just standing there talking about shakira and they all thought it was funny when i told them my boyfriend was Brad Pitt...though one of the girls wanted to share him with me. We managed to play simon says yesterday with the little ones, we even got the teacher to play until we used simon says jump around too many times for an adult to keep up with in the heat, he he.

We have been on a few weekend trips away and seen some amazing beaches, also snorkelling which was soooo cool! i wanna buy my own snorkelling stuff now and just go to a beach....its cost about 20 squid for a day trip out doing it.

Ummm i have been very badly burned lots but its tanning now yay! and my legs are too (maz!) The girls that i live with have been great, getting to meet loads of people from different clutures in the other volunteers. A couple from Canada laughed at me caus i said i needed a jumper and they didnt know what it was, ha ha losers.

I do quite a bit of the cooking for the apartment too, they like my pancakes...the American girl said she likes English pancakes. ha ha i stole your pancakes you french sukkas!

Right im gonna have to pay another 40 pesos (about 70p) if i go over this hour so i will have to write more another time lovers.
